Quickie preamp

I am wondering and trying to find the shaft size for the quickie knobs to source different looking knobs for the quickie I bought last week and waiting on its arrival.

Try some electronics suppliers like Mouser and DigiKey. 1/4" is a very common shaft size.

OK update on upgraded parts.

My suggesting - worth all you are paying for it - is to build it bone stock first. Listen to it for a number of hours - the caps or whatever do seem to need time to break in - THEN do the upgrades.

I tried both the chokes and PCJJ and the PCJJ was a BIG up over stock and even the  choke mod.

Dawg, we say it that way in Georgia, before you swap out the caps you can break them in:

thank you for the break in link , sometimes I use them as power supply temp bypass filter caps,or I use capacitor tester to break em in.

One or the other. You can use chokes or PJCC mod, not both at once.

They both increase the gain but the PJCC sounded "smoother" to me.

You source the Hammond chokes from an outside supplier. Not expensive.

As I said I find the PJCCS better but others prefer the plate chokes. Worth a try.
