I am wondering and trying to find the shaft size for the quickie knobs to source different looking knobs for the quickie I bought last week and waiting on its arrival.

Try some electronics suppliers like Mouser and DigiKey. 1/4" is a very common shaft size.

OK update on upgraded parts.
I have not recieved the quickie but here is the upgrades I have purchased so far.
PCJJ upgrade card with quickie
Vintage NOS Noble Dual 100K Potentiometer- Alps Blue Beauty replacement
Pair N-Cap Neglex MKP 2.2uF 800V Capacitor HIFI Audiophile Grade Germany
2X ROE ROEDERSTEIN 2.2uf 63v Axial Capacitor FOR AUDIO
2x NOS US Navi JAN CKR 3S4 VT-174 DL92 Battery Radio tube
2pcs KENDEIL 100V 1000UF CAPACITOR AUDIO
Anti-vibration Pads/Isoblocks for Audiophile Equip. 2"X2"X7/8" (set of four)
1 Quart QT GT Liqui-Damp X Brush On Liquid Audio Sound Dampening
I have top line rca jacks
Batteries from radio shack industrial grade.

I hope this works out

My suggesting - worth all you are paying for it - is to build it bone stock first. Listen to it for a number of hours - the caps or whatever do seem to need time to break in - THEN do the upgrades.

I tried both the chokes and PCJJ and the PCJJ was a BIG up over stock and even the  choke mod.

I have been reading and I thought you either use the pcjj or the chokes, are you saying to add both to it one at time or either or?

thank you for the break in link , sometimes I use them as power supply temp bypass filter caps,or I use capacitor tester to break em in.

One or the other. You can use chokes or PJCC mod, not both at once.

They both increase the gain but the PJCC sounded "smoother" to me.

Your Milage May Vary

Ok, maybe I'm just lazy, but I don't remember seeing a price for the chokes. Would be a simpler install, not that pjjs is a problem.

Thread on the chokes here:

You source the Hammond chokes from an outside supplier. Not expensive.

As I said I find the PJCCS better but others prefer the plate chokes. Worth a try.
