help hooking up new turntable

I just got a Technics SL-1500C and am very excited!  Been running a Uturn for years, which was nice, but time for an upgrade.  The 1500C has a separate ground cable, do I need to actually connect it?  The Uturn was self grounding, so this is something new to me (though very common from what i understand).  If this is really needed, what is the best way to hook it up to a Quickie?  I used to use a ground wire from the Quickie to an amp, but haven't needed that.. Would it be ok to simply hook up to that ground wire?  I think it was wired to the ground of the RCA jacks IIRC?

You should hook the earthing wire to earth, which isn't present on the battery powered Quickie.  If you have an amplifier with a three wire power cord, you can connect that wire to a chassis screw on the amplifier.
