New Crack build.

Not misquoting.  You can put one Cree in series with the B+ lead and filter out all reverse spike noise.  That makes the tweak much easier to install.

Which terminal i need to connect the Cree and how many  i will need for the S.E.X.?

Thanks!

Ok, I can help with SEX 1.0, I don't have the schematic or manual for the current production.  Looking at the schematic there are two Rpsus.  They are 680 Ohms, one between T6 & T11 and the other between T26 & T31.  You want the Cree diodes in series with these resistors.

Hello all,

I finished my Crack some time ago. I replaced the stock output capacitors with Mundorf ones and lived with that for a while. And lastly, I put in the Speedball. The new caps brought more detail and some refinement. The Speedball, I think, gave more dynamics. However, it sounded dryer to me at first, but got used to it pretty fast. I also thought that the Crack after SB played a tad louder, but I am not so sure anymore.

I think that will be the end of it for me as I am very happy the way it is now. But I confess, I have enough spare capacitors of all sorts to bypass everything. If I ever get bored and have too much time on my hands, I may do something more.

Inspiration for my build mostly came from Alastair Reynolds' and also Mikey's whose craftsmanship I always admired since the beginning.

Next, I am going to build a headphone cable to use with the Paramounts and compare these two.

Richard
