Wiring Issues

Newbie here. The shielded cable I have with my kit has multiple wire sets. I’d like to use the two wire cable pictured in the assembly manual. I was wondering what gauge this wire is and where I could source it. Thanks in advance!

You should have CAT5 cable in your kit that is used for the input wiring, as well as a smaller black cable that's a shielded twisted pair cable that is used for the heater wiring.

Yes, I’m missing that wire. I used the cat 5 cable. I just got to the Raw B+ voltage test and had a reading of (-330vdc). Rereading and tracing Caps and resistors.

Reach out to [email protected] and we’ll get you set up with new wire. The CAT5 cable should only be for the signal not the B+ voltage. Our apologies if we missed both sets of wire in your kit.

Jameson,
My apologies. After going through everything that came in the kit, cleaning up my bench and sorting through what was left over I found the wire. Embarrassed for sure. I’ll change out the Cat5 cable but am I right in my thinking that I’ll need more Cat5 cable after I used portions of the delivered cable for future installation?
Regards
Mike

Hey Paul,
Thanks for your reply. I found the small shielded wire and installed it. Sorry about! Continued with the build. I just measured the Raw B+ voltage and got a reading of 330 vcd. All connections look good. Any thoughts?

Finished the build. Upon checking resistance, I found resistance readings at positions A3,A4 and B3,B4 not OL as listed in the manual. I did go over all the wiring again and everything thing seems ok. Any suggestions?

After reading the resistance page again I imagine these readings would be considered OL. Correct?
A3-.401 M ohms
A4- .581 M ohms
B3- .392 M ohms
B4-.395 M ohms

Ok, past all the voltage tests and installed in my system. Fired it up and sounds great on just one channel. My left output is not working at all. Not sure if it is the input or output. When I rotate the balance to the left the right channel stays on. Rotate to right the right side goes silent. Thoughts on where to inspect?

I'd recommend posting a bunch of build photos.

If all your DC voltages were correct, this will be something simple like a wire that isn't in the correct place, or solder that may have dripped across an RCA jack and shorted it out.
