Fuse Blows Instantly on First Power-On [resolved]

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble with my Bottlehead Crack and could use some guidance. Here’s what happened:

  • I followed the build instructions and did a resistance check, everything looked fine.
  • When I powered on my build to do the voltage check, a loud buzzing noise came from the transformer and the fuse blew.
  • Since my soldering is messy (first build!), I suspect a wiring issue, however I cannot figure out where the problem is.

I’d greatly appreciate any advice or things to check before I risk replacing the fuse again.

Thanks in advance

It looks like you have a backwards UF4007 diode in your power supply.

You will get no left channel with the white wire connected to the headphone jack as it is.
