Here's my favorite preamp so far.  It's a bastardized Foreplay with a base built by a friend as a Christmas present.  My wife loves it!! She calls it cunnilingus!  She kills me sometimes.  It's solid walnut (?) with some nice inlay work, not sure what kind of wood was used in the inlays.  Sorry, I'm not much of a wood guy.  I'm very happy with it's sound and she's sexy to me!!

Thanks HF9!  And, yes......  She does!  I like her thinking sometimes!!

I am very happy with how this whole project (my system), is turning out!  This Foreplay (what ever type it is), has truly opened my eyes towards the whole "critical listening" thing.  I have always enjoyed tone controls and volume to get the type of sound I like.  I am beginning to learn (especially at my age), that one doesn't necessarily need tonals and/or volume to find depth, detail and clarity.  It's a new concept to me to be able to listen to my music without fatigue and using tubes, speakers and placement to get the results I desire.  If any of that makes sense.
