Decided on a hopeful upgrade.....

I have a Foreplay and have used it for many years and no complaints with it. Actually still using it to feed both of my Dynaco's I use. I bought the Foreplay kit originally at $99 to power some breadboard amp kit I had purchased that used four 11ms8 tubes and was said to have 8 watts of power. It was actually not as bad as it might seem and I still have it but can't say I really use it that much anymore.

I didn't really plan to get a new preamp but for some reason today I just felt the need and ordered up a Moreplay. I'm thinking it will be a upgrade and hopefully be the last preamp I ever need. Really looking forward to adding this to my setup.

I'm really glad to see Bottlehead is still around these days. Seems so many businesses are closing or gone. Glad I was able to continue to support them.

Ah, the S-5 is quite the blast from the past, that's super cool that you're still using an old Foreplay with it.

I think you will like the quality of sound the Moreplay produces, I have both Foreplay and Moreplay, with the Moreplay you have more options in tube rolling, in mine I use 7C5 and 6AQ5's with the appropriate adapters. It is a big step forward.

So to use the 7C5 tube you were able to find a adapter or did you have to make one?

Search via Google for the fellow DIY guy named Deyan. He makes the most beautiful tube adapters.
Custom made for the tube you want to use with color, size and aesthetics.
I've got over 30 adapters from him and can highly recommend his work.

I purchased the 7C5 to 6V6 and 6AQ5 to 6V6 adapters on eBay. Another tube that some use is the 6K6, which can be used without an adapter.
