Stereomour I input selector switch; adding a line-in

Does anyone have a link to a decent Stereomour I input selector switch replacement? Mine is getting noisy.

If I wanted to use the Stereomour I with an external pre-amp and bypass the selector switch and volume pot, what are things to consider when adding another pair of line-in RCA connectors?

I would e-mail replacementparts(at)bottlehead(dot)com and we can sell you a replacement switch.  It used to be a super common part, but it got discontinued unless you are willing to buy a couple thousand of them, which is what we did. 

You can also buy a Goldpoint 4P-3T-1D selector switch which would also work.

Doc - I thought the switch has a fully enclosed housing, but did not look that closely. Can it be deoxit'ed?

The first step I usually take is to exercise the switch a lot to see if the action polishes oxidation off the switch contacts. You can also try applying some contact cleaner around the base of the shaft or any other seams, which may wick into the internal parts. The switch can indeed be opened but you risk sending little springs and ball bearings flying into the twilight zone. So we don't recommend it. You can order a switch from us if all of this fails and you need a new one. Be forewarned that we will be out of town this week and it may not ship until next week.
