Painting Metal Plate on Fully Assembled Crack

If I unsrew as many parts as I can and use masking tape on everything left would that be a feasible way to paint the metal plate?

I have seen this attempted several times, and the results usually look pretty bad.

Oof, I mean. I can’t say I’d recommend it. That’s gonna be a lot of work to do that well and not damage anything. Important not to get paint on the bottom, especially on any components or near ground terminals.

As PB said, these don’t normally look great. Maybe your masking game is better than mine.

I'd be willing to sell the kit and start over from scratch. What price do I sell it for? I haven't added the speedball.

I swapped chassis plates of my Eros 2. So it’s possible to remove everything and paint the chassis. Although I wasn’t able to remove the AC socket, so that might need to be cut to be removed and replaced with a new one. I carefully desoldered the minimum number of connections and took off chunks of the circuit taking very careful notes so I could reassemble it. It’s quite a challenge, but it can be done.

The Eros has mostly telfon jacketed wire, so removing those connections won't melt those wires.
