Norwegian Crack

Just wanted to post a brief follow up.
The system has settled in now with some hundred hours.
Fantastic airyness, articulate, emotional, detailed. Never straining.

Feels I am sitting center row, row 10, with noone in front of me:)

FWIW:
DAP is an Ibasso Dx90.
My HD580s, I have refurbished/modded with new pads and HD600 grilles.

Looks great! You used up all the real estate in there! :D

BTW - Where did you source the Alps RK40? I see them floating around on ebay, but I'm a little risk adverse from purchasing on there, too many fakes in the wild  :P

Thank You very much, HF9.
I got mine from a guy on Ebay who had taken it from a vintage amplifier. (A Cromwell?)
It started acting up with a bad connection on one channel and has been exchanged for an Alps Blue.
If You would be interested in tinkering, I could part with it.

Just some added pictures, which shows the current state of the amp with Alps Blue, and clear to see the Speedball mod for the E80CC/12AU7 switching on the small boards

Thanks, followed Caucasian Blackplates info that the switches will operate under very low current, so I decided to use DIP switches and of of course, the PCBs for what they are worth.

Looks great, like the switches :) Possibly a nice thing to do would be to clean the flux off the PCBs. I use a cheap toothbrush and Isopropyl Alcohol (93%), scrub away, then dab with a paper towel. Gets rid of the gunk and looks a little prettier :D

I know, looks a little hairy around the transistors, they are the third pair that are in that spot, due to noise/ bad function from the previous two pairs. But now they work:) The OCD will probably make me clean them up at one point, though:)
