HT Bypass?

Hey guys,

Been a long time since I have posted as I have been way to busy enjoying my Quickie.

With the blessing/excitement of my wife we are looking to get a turntable. Luckily over the last year my father-in-law has found a few of his older audio items and has let me use them. This includes an ADCOM 6000 amp and JBL120ti speakers.

Now with the possible introduction of a turntable I have started to do some thinking about how to integrate my quickie into my family room where my main system is by going turntable into the phono of the AVR out the preouts to the Quickie and then to the Adcom. You guys think this would work?

Also, with a setup like this would I need to do some mods on the Quickie so one input has a bit of a HT bypass kind of set up or do I just need to make sure to have it on and that the volume is low enough so that the AVR can still be used for volume control for movies?

Nobody have any ideas?

if this cant be done I may convert it for a headphone amp when the BH DAC is released.

You should be able to plug your turntable into your AVR, then plug the Quickie into the tape output of the AVR. 

The Adcom should work nicely with the Quickie.  The input impedance is fairly high, and you can trim the channels down a bit to decrease the sensitivity of the amplifier.

I may also wind up building a BeePre before I get around to doing this as well. I did the Quickie to discover what all the talk was about in regards to tube gear...

Well, I'm a believer, I dont care what anyone on other forums who think differently.

Hey B === I think you are on the right track. The Q gives you many options, as well as many upgrade options. I have use a "pre" in many non traditional situations and got very good results. Its a great start. Much encouraged.

Experimenting cant hurt can it? I still havent got the Quickie plugged in but want to try to get it put in this weekend to experiment.

Just been really busy with looking for another job at the moment.
