If your HD is only 24% full that is not the problem, searching MS support shows WMP has a few bugs, (no surprise there.) I found this but I am not sure it is the same problem, http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-sound/after-ripping-12-cds-i-now-receive-an-error-saying/36d8062e-a7f4-4c9e-b98b-a63923fc9e72, can't hurt to read it anyway. You know Grainger I am a long time Apple user but I don't like ITunes either, When I rip cds or dvds I run Windows and rip using dbpoweramp, of course I am ripping everything to FLAC using error correction, but I get the best results with this software than any other I have tried.
