Crackle/static issues with the Crack

Hi all,

I've had the Crack for about two years and over the last six months or so  I've had an intermittent problem with static and crackling in the right channel. More recently the problem has become constant.

After reading a few similar threads, I've tried reheating the solder joints but this hasn't helped. Interestingly, if I pull the headphone jack 1/3 of the way out the static becomes apparent on BOTH channels. Am I dealing with a faulty tube here or does it sound like a cold joint problem?

Unplug and replug the tubes a few times. That may clean the pins and clear up the noise. Pulling the jack out has nothing to do with it, that just mixes the two channels to mono.
