Birth of Seductionstein!

Just finished a 10-year old Seduction that had been gathering cobwebs, but begged to be electrified for Halloween.  Dead quiet, although I'm definitely in need of some more horsepower...

PB,

I knew I'd be in need of power, but wanted to go stock first.  I'm definitely putting in the C4S mod and then plan on upgrading to the Eros which will give me even more gain (plus all the other goodies).  Quick question on my measurements.  Everything sounds great - no buzz, scratchiness or hum, but it is low on gain.

I had a couple of borderline low resistance and voltage measurements. 17, 19, 22 and 24 were all just below the lowest listed resistance measurements, but consistent.  All the 70VDC measurements were at 60-61V, with the 1.6VDC's at 1.4 to 1.5.  Everything else spot on.

All parts are 10 years old, but Joshua sent me some new LED's.

The new LED's were a good idea.

70V measurements coming in lower indicates tubes with high emission (this is a good thing).

Hey Sugarman;

Paul built a custom Eros for me, and I too use the BPS EVO lll. With the Eros into the custom linestage he also built for me there is plenty of gain indeed, so if the Seduction with C4S's is at all lacking, you will love the Eros. BTW, I too use the Blumenstein speaker setup like yours and love it.

Cheers, Hank

Thanks for the input, Hank. I'm definitely building the Eros even if the C4S gives me enough gain on the Seduction.  The builds are so fun that I decided to build the Seduction first just to hear the evolution.  Sweet looking system.

Hey Sugarman; Clark came down to Eugene a couple of weeks ago to drop off a pair of Mako's with AlNiCo drivers. Highs not very extended, but the detail in the middle and having the subs in the system to relieve the power handling in the bass region makes for thrilling listening, especially to big orchestral works. My 2A3 amp drives them easily from 80Hz and up, and the JJ 2A3-40 tubes give a marvelous presentation. Cheers, Hank in Eugene
