Streaming in upgrades on any Bottlehead build is risky and not recommended. I’m not going to voice my reasons other than I may be a bit touched in the head and consider doing it this way presents a challenge and causes me to think…and slow down.
I’ve noticed that since my last build my hands shake enough for me to notice and I’m only on 1 cup of coffee.
It works!
All resistance checks and voyage checks passed except for heater ohms at the tube and I assumed that since I was measuring with the upgrade some variables would present themselves.
I noticed things were getting crowded at the selector switch and wiring in my bypass (for headphone amps) output was going to get complicated so I wired it at the back of the Claymore instead using slightly longer leads from the selector that stuck out the back of the board.
Gain reduction resistors put in.
Don’t need more than 1/2 w but I’d have felt a bit more comfortable with girthier wire. Both of these were 1/2w. It works!

It may look like wires are close but see the last picture.
Alps are way better than the stock. I like the concept of not having a “wiper” system for volume as I’ve seen cheap wiper versions corrode or wear at your favorite listening position.
I’m not sure how you would fit in a stepped volume using the claymore board.
Keep in mind the mega headphone amp , mainline, uses a resistor array so I’d assume that would be a better volume system.
