Zebrano Crack

My Crack trying out the Quickie enclosure for size.  I decided to make my Quickie enclosure a similar depth to the Cracks so they could do a bit of bed swapping...

That is a beautiful piece of woodwork and a beautiful amp.

If you leave your Crack there for a while you will want feet under the base to allow some air flow.

Cheers guys,

Evan it was your build that helped inspire me, I really liked how your custom Zebrano case looked.

I used a home brew mix of Tung Oil and varnish, starting off by wiping on a 50/50 mix first then just adding a little more varnish into the cup for subsequent coats with a light sand between. The pores in the wood took a few coats to fill. Then a couple of coats of clear to finish off. Once it has all harden up over the weekend I will give it a compound cut/polish next week when time allows.  My Zebrano was a little paler in colour than I had expected, the slight amber hew of the varnish has really helped with enhancing the grain.

Grainger, there will be feet, but what they will be is still under consideration.

Nice work, where did you source the wood from?

ebay its surprising what you can find and get a good deal on something someone else has left over.

I recently ordered some Purpleheart for a project I am working on from

http://www.exotichardwoods.co.uk/index.asp

They also stock Zebrano and a wide selection of other timbers they will Parcel post in 1 metre lengths which is handy. I might have enough Purpleheart left over for another enclosure but at the moment I am not sure.
