2 coats white Rustoleum lacquer with 2 coats clear Rustoleum lacquer over it.
Minwax English Chestnut stain with 5 coats Minwax Wipe-On Poly

All electronic parts stock

Care taken so that the paint doesn't block conductivity to ground where it's needed, such as the tube shields etc.

That is quite a striking color combination.  It is hard for me to tell, are the tube shields white too?

This isn't your first kit, is it?

Yes the tube shields are also lacquered white.

I've been soldering stuff together since 1967, when I built a Knight-Kit Star Roamer.  (See http://www.ohio.edu/people/postr/bapix/StarRmr.htm if interested.)

Here's my Bottlehead Crack, also in white:

I used the same Minwax English Chestnut stain on the Crack's base, but it came out a different color- much more of a honey color to it. I am at a loss to explain that.

I also built a Hagerman Cornet2 over with bubinga and polished copper - see http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=94392.0  (Built it over?  Rebuilt it?  However you want to say it...)

I have never gotten the Alder wood to show this much grain.  I obviously need to change stains.  The Eros looks a bit darker but the Crack shows more grain.

Nice work on the Cornet as well.  It looks like about 2 pounds of copper in there.  I particularly like the mount for the KK Teflon and others.  Amazing things, those values in other manufacturer's Teflon caps would cost a fortune!

Very nice work! I'd be very interested to hear your impressions of the Hagerman Cornet versus the Eros, although it might be apples to oranges with all those nice Russian caps stuffed in there ;) I've been tempted to try the Cornet2 at some point, despite not using my record player nearly as much as I'd like.
