What are we buying these days?...

I have a VIP 16.5, a pair of vacuum tubes (VIP pickup tubes), a pair of Disk Doctor brushes and use AIVS cleaning fluid with their Ultra Pure Water rinse.

I have used everything from Dust Bugs, Diskwashers (the first generation and 2 more), Preeners, VIP's fluid and a number of others.  This is the best fluid I have ever used.

Just pre-ordered Cara Dillon's new album "A Thousand Hearts"  I can honestly say I have not been so excited about listening to new album for a long long time. Its been in the making for a couple of years now, what also makes it a little bit extra special is that its her first album to be released on Vinyl! It will be also be on their own label so I would bet heavily its also been very well produced.

It was really wonderful to find out it was going to available on vinyl, quiet exciting. I think I might shed a tear or two of joy. I even went and pre-ordered the cd as well!

Wooo hooo

How does the Renbourn UK compare to the U.S. issue?

I received it a week ago and listened last weekend.  It is better.  It isn't a first pressing but without a doubt the imaging is more precise and fleshed out.  The highs are cleaner and clearer as well.

How do you like Raising Sand?  I love Alison Krauss and Union Station but their last album and her duet with Plant both left me cold.

Paully,  I really like Raising Sand.  There are a couple of tracks that I could leave but I like the album as  a whole.  It is nice and relaxing.  I find that their voices really pair well.  Very organic album.  Nothing overdone.

It is the first Alison Krauss that I have.  I will have to check out her and |Union Station.  Do you have a recommendation.

Thanks

I

Do I have a recommendation he asks.  I always have a recommendation, may not be even be close to right, but believe me, I always have one.  ;)

I am generally not a fan of live albums, at all, but Alison Krauss and Union Station Live is absolutely essential and it sounds incredible.  Then New Favorite as well as Forget About it (apparently without Union Station).  Order of listening isn't truly important here though.  Those would be my recommendations!  If you are into vinyl, unless you are quite wealthy, it will not be an option here for those albums.  OOP and expensive.

And I think I will give Raising Sand another listen, it never hurts.

+1 here

Alison Krauss and Union Station Live & Diana Krall live in Paris are perhaps my favourite live recordings at the moment.

Hooverphonic live with orchestras is a little different and has been moving up my play list recently.

Its been a long time since I last owned this album, it was lent to a friend and never came back.

The Eagles – Hotel California (LP)

I listened to Depeche Mode, Ultra a couple of time through yesterday. I had forgotten how good the recording is once you get past the first track.
