Top Plate dimensions

I would like to start building a case for the Quickie while waiting for it to arrive in the post.  Please could you confirm the exact top plate dimensions.

As Dan has stated, somewhere else on the forum  .  .  .  the top plate dimensions are as exact as LASER cutters can be. (This plate is Acrylic)  So 6"X10" plus or minus a few thousandths of an inch.

Interestingly the product description still says they are Acrylic, (and they are).

Thank you, the top plates are the same size as the Crack then which is super. I will make something of similar dimensions to the Cracks so I can swap enclosures around every now and then for a different look.

From your post the plates now shipping are aluminium correct?

I make the Quickie and Fix panels in my garage, with a drill press...

They are cut by hand on a table saw, and they get a pass or two on an edge router to clean off the saw cut marks on the edges. 

All of this is done by hand, so the Quickie plates can have some variations.  I'd say 10"x6", +/- 1/16".  Typically, I try to get them just a hair on the small side.

Ah ha its great to know I know who to curse when it doesn't fit 

I can easily cut out the grooves to suit with the router after making up the enclosure.

I am confused now as to which it does not really matter to me  but I can see some clarity is required!

When in doubt, the person who packs the kits is going to be right about what goes in them 9.9999 times out of ten.

My answer stands:
Acrylic. Unequivocally acrylic. The product description says they are acrylic because it is describing a product.

My only question is where is this wrong information coming from?

This is coming from my faulty 64 YO memory.  I thought I had read that the Q was now a laser cut panel.  I guess I was wrong.  The one on the product page surely looks aluminum (I worked for ALCOA so I know what it looks like) but says Acrylic.

I'll see if I can talk the plastic supplier out of a "brushed aluminum" acrylic plate for your Fix

Cool. I'm just trying to make sure wrong info isn't canonized somewhere.

The product shot is on a pearlized white acrylic base, FWIW.

Great all cleared up, its easy to get ones wires crossed.

To be honest its rather neat knowing who has hand made my panel and who has packed it for shipping.
