I have an A&K SP3000T which pairs nicely I think with my HD800S. (HD800S, not HD800's). No other amp at all at present. Volume at 100 is plenty loud enough (it goes to 150). I know this has tubes built in but I'm curious about an even more tubey sound, and so am intrigued by the Crack + Speedball with this combination. (I can run the SP3000T with tubes off if need be). Would this make any sense? Would the crack be good enough for the SP3000T, and/or the HD800S? Would it be the weak link?
I don't want to spend thousands on an amp-my setup is good as is, I'm just curious about getting the most, or more at least, out of my HD800S, and wonder if the Crack would give them that little tubey boost, at reasonable cost, that I'm looking for...
