Stereomour + Klipschorns

Greetings,

I'm leaning towards a Stereomour to pair with my Klipschorns.  I've not built a tube kit since the early 70's when I was a pre-teen
My thought is to get my feet wet with the Stereomour and perhaps move on to Paramounts and the new Preamp if I get the bug.

Sounds like a well thought out plan to me. You wont regret it. There are plenty of great folks online that will help smooth out the bumps in the road for you.

I have listened to some Klipshorns with the S.E.X amp, and it drove them pretty effortlessly.  Would love to hear a stereomour playing on them.  Bet it would sound marvelous.

I'm not quite ready for Paramount+Pre though that would be my preference.  I almost popped for a Seduction the other day to get the power cord since my only phono section right now is a late 70s Sansui 8080 with pre-outs that needs serious cleaning.  My dream is to multi-amp the Klipschorns someday ;D
My turntable is a mid-fi unit from the early 80s so that's another rabbit hole waiting in wait to suck me into.

I finished a Stereomour build recently and 'plumbed' it into my klipschorns; to say I highly recommend it is an understatement. I had never built an amp (dabbled with a bit of electronics along the way but consider myself a rank amateur); easy build and very much worth it.

Take the plunge and make those k-horns sing!

I built a Stereomour and am using it with Klipsch LaScalas (don't have a room with corners for the khorns) and it sounds phenomenal! More power than you'll ever need. I had a chance to play it on two sets of Khorns over the summer, and it sounded great with both. The combo led my buddy to sell his PrimaLuna amps and buy a Stereomour kit.

If you haven't decided to jump yet, I'd highly recommend it!

I'm a Bottlehead pre-newbie. Have a Stereomour on the way and this will be my first build.

Some years back had a friend's Paramours driving my Klipshorns and the sound was wonderful. Have LaScalas only now, but know the sound will be primo. Looking forward to the build.

I'm a bit apprehensive about the build having never done any soldering to speak of, but am practicing a bit here and there. Have been reading the forum and observe tremendous support for builders troubleshooting their projects. Mostly I find myself lost understanding the answers and even the problems posted. Think the way will be found, picking up on info here and there. There is a huge knowlege base to draw from which is carried and shared by the forum members, builders and Bottlehead staff alike. This is a very cool and powerful thing. Internet communities like this are quite rare. 

One thing, it will be a while before getting going on the build. Preparing for one daughter's wedding and another daughter's baby to be born in the next several weeks. Also have some honey-do tasks that are must finish before I'll have access to the dining room table for work. However that will allow for small blocks of time to practice soldering, studying the assembly manual and finishing the wood base and amplifier plate.

Take your time, check, double check.  Make sure LEDs are oriented properly as well as any electrolytic capacitors.  Measure your resistors before you put them in to make sure you have the right one.  Practice soldering, making nice, tight, clean solder joints, not solder globs.  Did I say take your time and check everything Multiple times?  Do this and chances are you will be fine.  Once you see how good the instructions are and have confidence in your ability to solder you'll know you can do this.
