Source for STP

Happy New Year fellow Bottleheads!
With numerous kits built over the years, there has been the occasional rebuild to use a custom panel, try out a new paint scheme, or simply because my soldering skill has improved. (Marginally)
That time has come again, which brings up my question: Where can I source shielded twisted pair cable comparable to that supplied in the kits that is sold by the foot?
While keeping an entire spool in stock at Bottleheadquarters makes sense, 5-10 feet would probably set me up for life.
Thanks in advance for any leads,
Karl

I bought this:
Communication and Security System Cable
Shielded Riser-Rated, Two 22-Gauge Wires, 10 Feet Long
8233T31

from Mcmaster Carr at appears to be similar.

Oof, stranded wire makes the job so much harder. A long time ago Eileen ordered some stranded shielded pair wiring on accident and had cut some off the spool, so it lives at my house. I begrudgingly use it because it's here, but man does it make the job a lot harder!

We use Belden 8450, you can get a little 100' spool for about $75, which is pretty reasonable.

True, but I just could not find less-than-spool lengths of solid core. It would be cool it Bottlehead offered 10 foot lengths of STP as a part. :)

I worked with stranded wire on my Stereomore build, and it was a pain the tush (16 ga stranded with a stranded shield, so REALLY a pain in the tush), but with care it can be done. I recommend twisting stripped wire and solder tinning before attempting to attach to any connection point as a way of restraining stray strands. I also recommend inspecting the tinned wire and then the soldered joint with a 10X loop to be doubly sure no stands escaped.

Thanks guys! The storefront location is about 40 minutes from me, who knows what else I'll find if I visit in person.

Thanks again for the tip on the source for the wire. I am in the process of rebuilding my Eros (V1) and noticed something that didn't pique my curiosity the first time: The terminal strip in the front center position is insolated from the chassis plate by fiber washers, yet tied to the ground lug. Is this to avoid a possible ground loop?
