Seduction Build Question - Capacitors

Hi,
I'm at the last soldering stage of my Seduction build: RIAA Capacitors, pg 36.

I have 8 capacitors left to solder, which definitely jives with the instructions.  My question is about their labeling ... I can't tell which is which for sure.  Any guidance is highly appreciated. 

What I have (what the capacitors themselves are labeled):
two "104K 400B"
two "400V 333k"
two "122K 630B"
one "WFL 103H 630V A"
one "WFL 103H 630V B"

What Page 37 of the instructions call for:
two ".1uF P140J"         
two ".033uF P333J"        I would guess these are the "400V 333k"
two ".0012uF P122J"      I would guess these are the "122K 630B"
two ".01uF 400V"

Can anyone confirm what's what for me?

So i found the answer to most of this issue right here in the seduction forum...and on page 2 no less. Go figure.  I still have one question though:

is there a difference (that will affect the seduction) between the WFL 103H 630VA & WFL 103H 630VB?

The caps in questions are actually labeled differently :   WFL 103H 630V A and WFL 103H 630V B ?    Hmmm, interesting.  

Well, 103 is definitely .01uF.   And the manual calls for 2 X .01uf 400V.  Since it doesnt specify differences in those two caps in the manual,  I wouldnt think that it would make any difference (I have been wrong before, alot actually    ).    Anyway, Im thinking they are some type of tolerance code.  The "H" is going to be the capacitance tolerance.  I know that  J is 5%, H is better (lower letters, tighter tolerance).   You can do a search to find out.    So Im thinking the A and B are tolerance codes for something else, maybe the dielectric or temperature rating or drift with temperature or voltage or something like that.   So the "A" cap would probably be a "tighter" cap for whatever spec/tolerance those letters (A and B) represent.  But I have a feeling that it doesnt matter which goes where,  they are probably just what Bottlehead purchased (they frequently mention that parts types change in the kits but quality will be equal of better).  It's safe to say that if those caps are connecting to the same points for different channels/tubes, it wont matter which goes where.  If not, you can hang out for more experienced input than mine.   Or, a Google search would no doubt turn up everything you want to know about those different letter and number codes.

And you are correct:

333K is .033
122K is .0012

But ... I think the P140J should be P104J.   Regardless, based on the others listed, that should be the two "104K 400B" that you have  ( .1uF 400V)

Also, as long as the voltage rating of what you have is equal to or higher than what the manual lists, you are fine.  But im sure you already knew this.

Hello Mike,

Your assumptions are quite correct. 

When we write the manuals for our kits, we work hard to document all the details of the parts in question, especially in a kit like Seduction where you have a pile of little red capacitors that all kind of look the same, but function very differently.  Then, down the road, parts get discontinued or revised by the manufacturers, and we run into these little differences. 

it's always great to check though, these parts are not fun to move around once they're soldered in.

I'm about to put these guys in.  I don't want to get ahead of myself, but it's possible I can be listening by this evening if there are no issues.

Laudanum, You are right that the P140J should be P104J, but the instructions actually do say P140J.  It's added to my confusion. 

PB, Do you have any input as to what the A vs B designation is on the WFL 103H 630V caps is?

Hello Mike,

For many, many of the parts that we order, a designation change like that most often comes from RoHS (Removal of Hazardous Substances), where electronic parts are revamped to reduce their content of lead and other undesireable chemicals, thus the revised part takes on a slightly different part number (often times an "-RC" is added at the end for "RoHS Compliant).
