The Goldpoint attenuator prevents me from mounting the C4S board as instructed, so I am considering 1) mounting the board rotated 180 degrees horizontally, 2) flipping the board over so that the components face the baseplate, 3) extending the height of the standoffs. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Those are all relatively valid options. Flipping the board over may allow things to touch that shouldn't, and longer standoffs will be annoying to get ahold of, so just rotating the board 180 degrees seems like a good plan.
Thanks for the reply! I have ordered some 1" 4-40 male/female nylon standoffs on ebay that I can trim and stack, but I suspect that I will get impatient and install the board 180 degree rotated, as you suggest. We are looking forward to comparing the sound of an S.E.X. with the C4S circuit to one without - I've built two of them!

I had a similar problem with the an Alps pot and breakout boards. Failing the large standoff, you can use a longer machine screw with a spacer (or second standoff) placed on top of the original standoff. As long as there's enough thread poking out the end of the spacer to engage the standoff, everything is tight, and the components aren't lower than the bottom of the wooden base, it should be fine.

You called it - just ordered some 2" nylon standoffs from McMaster Carr (as well as a refresh of our 4-40 hardware) which will be here tomorrow. Maybe I will trim them a bit. I always say that McMaster knows what I want before I do, which is how they can get it to me in one day!
