I’ve been running my Stereomour II (all available mods installed) with Emission Labs 300b 2.5 tubes since 2020. Anyone remember those Covid stimulus checks? One of those paid for those tubes. I’m very lucky to be able to experience them.
I recently adopted two kittens and they are very active and curious. I decided to put away the EL tubes for the time being for safety and returned to my original Sovteks for the first time. Oh boy what a step down from the fancy expensive stuff.
They still sound spacious and deep but the treble is very hot and grating in comparison. Bass is greatly diminished.
Im posting this in case anyone is interested. High quality output tubes absolutely make a difference in this fantastic amplifier.
