Resistor ID help

Page 31, second step asks for a 220K ohm 1w resistor (red, red, yellow, gold) for the R4 position. The closest resistor I have in my kit is (red, red, brown, gold) and it measures 216K ohm. Is this the correct resistor for R4? (Maybe its just a typo in the instructions)

Red, red, yellow, gold is 220K.  If it's 1% off, it will measure around 217K, and there's also meter tolerance, so no worries there.

Thanks Paul, I dont have a red,red,yellow,gold… I only have red,red,brown,gold which measures 216

I’m starting to feel bad about asking Eileen to send me parts, (this is the third missing part)

So what's the problem? You need a 220K resistor, and the one you have measures 216K.
Apparently, you have a red/red/yellow/gold resistor...you just can't tell yellow from brown... ;)
I would feel bad, too, if I were  to ask Eileen to replace that part... ;D :P

DISREGARD, I just figured out my problem...

I was building last night while too tired.

I retraced the previous few steps on the Bias board, and yes, apparently I used the wrong resistor for a previous step because I couldn't tell the difference between yellow and brown

I'm glad you caught that.  Putting the carbon film resistor in that position and turning the amp on would do quite some damage!
