It isn't Northwest Alder!!! :)  The Web has become my source for all of the wood that I purchase, only draw back is shipping to Alaska.  To my knowledge their is only one store in Anchorage that has a stock of good quality wood, but a 400 mile round trip to Anchorage via auto or truck is much more expensive than shipment from the lower 48.

I bought a cord of maple for the woodstove last year. Every once in a while I grab a log that shows some nice curly figure or quilting. Probably a good thing I don't have the table saw set up or I would be sawing up perfectly good fire logs into wood bases.

Lee you sure do find some nice looking boards. I'm looking at the build and admiring all the little extra details you have worked in like the rectifiers spacers I've not seen that done before. How are you finding that khozmo attenuator?

Jamie, I now only use the Audio Note Pot (as used in the Crackatwoa) and the Khozmo Acoustic attenuators.  I really like both.  The Crackatwoa will eventually  end up with a pair of mono Khozmo attenuators.

The Goldpoint 24 attenuator was my standard attenuator until the Khozmo came along; do not know if the Khozmo is better but it is more attractive and cheaper (unless one orders the tackman and foil resistors).  Goldpoint now has a 47 step attenuator but again more expensive than the Khozmo.

I do not believe that the tackman resistors are that much better (if at all) than the Dale resistors.  I like to use the TX7525 100K foil resistor and they can be purchased from the factory in Texas for $18.65.

Someone make him stop!  I just want to tear all of my kits apart and start over again...  :-\

Very nicely done Lee!!

I did tear most of my kits apart and started over again, the new builds now have a little bling and personality.  It is really something that I really enjoy doing.
