Quuickie 1.1 resistance and voltage checks failures

I double checked the wiring, and resoldered as needed, but..

All measurements done with tubes and batteries removed

A1, B1 manual says 1.07Kohm - I get 0 ohm
A3, B3 check OK
A7, B7 - this is redundant - A1=A7, B1=B7.  manual says 1.07Kohm, I get 0 ohm
4,9 should be 1.07Kohm, checks OK

I'm looking at the schematic, and I don't see how A1,A7,B1,B7, which are the cathode tied together for parallel use and are connected to (+) of the D cell could get 1.07Kohm. 
A5, B5, are the other cathode connections (-) D cell and the yield 1.07kohm to ground measurement. That makes sense to me since it ties to ground through the cathode resistor and bypass cap.

Have the fumes gotten to me?

I got brave and moved on to voltage checks. Hope nothing is fried.  Put in batteries and tubes

Terminal 1,5 manual says 29V.  Terminal 1 OK. Terminal 5 is ground, is this an error in the manual? Terminal 6 give 29V, seems that's appropriate.
Terminal 2,6 manual says 38V. Terminal 2 OK. Terminal 6 is 29V, the drop after the 4Kohm load resistor. Terminal 7 give 38V, seems that's appropriate.
Terminal 4,9 manual says 2-3V, checks OK
Terminal 5,10 manual says 0V. Checks OK.  Note that Terminal 5 is repeated here, see first measurement.
Rotary B manual says approx 4V, I read 0V. Note that Rotary D gives 3.9V
Rotary C manual says approx 4V. Checks OK

So the symmetry of measurements could be (2,7) -> 38V: (9V battery bank)
So the symmetry of measurements could be (1,6) -> 29V: (36V after plate load resistor 4Kohm)
So the symmetry of measurements could be (C,D) -> approx 4V:

Phew that a lot.  But for someone familiar with it, maybe it makes sense.

You have an older version of the manual where the indexing of the terminals for the voltage measurements were off.  This has been corrected, but if you received your kit recently, it would be helpful for us to know if old versions of the manual are shipping.

With no tubes in the sockets, pins 1/7 on the 7 pin sockets won't give you much of a reading.

Your voltages look good, I'd move on to listening.

I received my kit a few weeks ago.  Says Quickie 1.1, copyright 2013.

Can you post/PM me the correct test points and results for resistance and volts? 

While we're at it, I think I found 2 other minor corrections needed:
1) schematic lists the bypass cap as 1000uF, 6V.  Actual part and rest of manual are 150uF, 16V
2) p. 20, description says use pin B6 but pic shows B2.  Shouldn't make a difference, but it's inconsistent. (A side pic is correct).

5, 10.  0

Volume pot
A side terminals.  0
Centre terminals.  0-100k dependin
Bs side.    90-100k

Voltage
1,6.  29v
2,7.  38v
4,9.  2-3v
5,10. 0v

Rotary d  4v. Around
Rotary c. 4v around

Yeah, you have an out of date manual.  I will let the kit packers know.

Did anything else change? I'd rather not have to go through it line by line.

Hi all!

First time post, and well, complete noob to all things tube. Anyhow I just wrapped up my first quickie build last night, and as well, it would appear I also have the old manual, and similar issues with voltage checks, hopefully i can get this thing [not] humming right along.. Thanks to all the forum participants - there is a wealth of information and knowledge here!

Slight correction, as it turns out there is a slight difference between a 1k resistor and a 475K resistor. At least I was consistant and installed them in pairs,  Paul thank you for the quick manual turn around, and in fact I did receive the correct one with my kit - but it did help me in my troubleshooting in that it encouraged me to, ahem. re-read the instructions. the Quickie sounds great, btw. I'll reserve the audiophile grade poetry for later, but per all the others before me, wow, best 100 bucks I've ever spent for something audio!

I need to track down some hum.  And the microphonics sound like church bells, but that's only when I tap them. I'm not concerned by that. Now if each tube produced a different bell, that would be a cool musical instrument.

I sold my Counterpoint SA-1000 to a buddy who immediately replaced the line stage 6DJ8 with an extremely microphonic RCA.  When the, very small, mute relay opened the audio path it would ring like a triangle. 

He and his (now ex-) wife loved the sound of the tube.  Everybody likes different things from their music.  He liked the ambiance this tube added.

Make sure to keep your Quickie away from other electronics.  Those 3S4 tubes are pretty sensitive to things around them.
