Question about installation of standoff for C4S upgrade

Hi,

I am doing the C4S upgrade and ran into an issue when installing the second of the nylon standoffs as instructed on page 15 of the manual.

It says to "slip a #6 lock washer over the screw in front of terminal 15. Mount a second #4x1" (25mm) nylon standoff on the screw."

The issue is that there is only about 2 mm of screw exposed (see attached photo). I figured I had put too many nuts on that lug when assembling, but review of that step in the sex manual seemed to suggest I had done it correctly.

Am I correct in assuming that I need to remove the top nut and then place the standoff?

Thanks,

John

Paul,

I went back and read it again. I’m not following what you are trying to say.

The only instructions re the second standoff is what I quoted.

What am I missing?

The second picture on page 15 seems to show only one nut where the second stand-off goes. I had two, which didn’t leave enuf screw threads exposed to accommodate a lock washer and grab the threads of the stand-off.

Am I dense?

John

The instruction is to remove that top nut before you install the standoff on the screw -

Remove the hex nut securing the terminal strip in front of terminal 15.

Then you slip a lock washer over the screw and thread on the standoff.

Greetings everyone,

I wanted to second Big Bamboo's message about the instructions for the C4S upgrade.

The supplied manual does not include the instruction to remove a hex nut.

I am including a screen shot of what I see (and likely what Big Bamboo did too) to confirm that that instruction is, indeed, missing.

I am grateful for this forum and for figuring out this glitch, but this is an easy fix for the next update to the C4S manual.

And, yes, I am just now finally adding the CS4 upgrade. I've been enjoying the 3.0 as is for a while to really learn it's sound before adding the upgrade.
