Problem with older forum posts

I'm not sure if you guys are aware of this, but there's something wrong with older forum posts. See this thread as an example. The pictures are no longer displayed inline. If you click the link for the picture, it downloads it rather than displays it. When you try to open the thing it downloads, all the graphics programs I tried claim the image file is corrupt and unreadable. This obviously makes it hard to figure out what's going on when people refer to the pictures.

Can this be fixed?

We are aware of it and no, unfortunately at this point at least it seems it can't be fixed. We have asked anyone who posted the original images to please repost them if they still have them.

This really, really sucks.  I was going through posts in the Gallery forum looking for ideas for my Crack and tons of them no longer display pics.
