Polk SDA's and Foreplay

So is anyone using Polk SDA's with their Foreplay's? I am new to the tube world in home audio. Have used tube guitar amps for years though. But anyways....my current set up is Polk SDA1B's, Onkyo Integra M504, Denon SACD and a stock FPII. Gotta say I am pretty happy right now. I have tried out my Infinity RSIIIa's a little and like them as well with the FP.

The speakers depend on the power amp more than the preamp.  They must have the power to drive them properly.  The preamp, in your case a tubed Foreplay like mine, will select the input and supply the drive and voltage the power amp needs to get to a satisfying volume.  With tubes it also portrays a beautiful soundstage for your music.

As you might have found out SET tube amps do not drive low efficiency speakers well.  I don't know about your Polks but the Infinity RSIIIas do not do well with amps under 10WPC.

Does this make sense?

Perfect sense. The M504 is 165 wpc.
The Polk's are probably a harder load to drive than the RSIIIa's. They are not "amp killers" like the Kappa series and a few others.
