Paramounts testing voltages

I fel like a dummy, but what is the best way to support and invert the paramounts to allow access to the terminals to check live voltages without damaging the tubes?  Inverting them in the wood bases does not allow enough room.

I look for a cardboard box of about the right size. Fold out the flaps and wind a loop or two of tape around them to stiffen it up.

Don't forget for many amps seting them down at something like 45 deg or whatever  is the best way...John

I would put something solid like wood or books under the ends of the base to raise it enough for the 300B to clear and then put the amp in the base upside down.  That would give you a solid platform to do measurements on.  Like John said, you could scotch the amp on its side, but I think this would be difficult to do without putting side pressure on the 300B tube.

The paramount iron is big enough that if you put a paperback under the tranny you just balance it that way.

Is way more stable to prop the base up on something though. Books or some 2x4s. Don't really need much.

When I was testing mine, I happened to have a nice piece of molded packing styrofoam lying around.  Worked perfect.
