Paramount resistance query- go ahead to Voltage check?

Hi there,

Just finished up my Paramounts and have performed the resistant checks.

I have a few concerns, namely Terminal 9, 19, B1, B4, & B6.

I have listed all the resistance checks.  Can you please offer any pointers or should I proceed to voltage checks.  Thanks!.....Dave

I will assume that these are 300B amps.  9 and 19 are wired together.  On 9, you should just have the red wire of the red/black twisted pair, and the 0.1uF cap.  19 is the plate of the driver stage, and should be connected to B4, then up to "OB" on the driver PC board.  Just double check these connections, and be sure that there isn't some kind of short between 9 or 19 and some other terminal.  I wouldn't do voltage checks until that is correct.

These continued differences between amps would seem to suggest that there is a miswire in at least one of them.

Hi Paul,

Thanks very much.  Sorry, you are right it is wired for 300B.  I went back and took a look while you were posting.  I resoldered the 19L connection and the B6 for the Right monoblock (the red wire from the pcb solder job wasn't quite there)!

Now everything seems to be tied together my reading now are same on both monoblocks:

Terminal 9      296K      Manual    128K *
            19    296K                      128K *
            B1      0                              0
            B4    296K                      130K  *
            B6    296K                      177K  *

Because of the * would my values be ok because they are higher than the 128k, 130k, 177k ?

Also, I rechecked that 9, 19 B4 and OB are all connected.  Thanks so much!....Dave

Does this look ok?:

Terminal 9      296K      Manual    128K *
            19    296K                      128K *
            B1      0                              0
            B4    296K                      130K  *
            B6    296K                      177K  *

Because of the * would my values be ok because they are higher than the 128k, 130k, 177k ?

Thanks...Dave
