Paramount Replacement

We are working on a project codenamed Kaiju. It won't be monoblocks and it won't be as sophisticated a circuit in its basic form. I don't know when it will be ready.

Congratulations on such a great product and production run as the Paramount!

Any idea if this will affect availability of the Paramount Soft Start Update kit in the near term?

Also, are there any leftover power transformers or P/S boards to be cleared out?

When the kits we have for sale are gone, Paramount is done. Those last kits will consume the remaining stock of transformers. If someone wants a transformer we can get it made, but they will be very expensive ordered from our winder in singles or pairs. As to the boards for the soft start kit, they are used in other kits but I'm not sure that we would reorder the small parts specific to the Paramount version once they run out.

Another new product on the horizon to look forward to, you guys have been busy this year. Looking forward to hearing more about the Kaiju in due course.

Hmmm, the code name Kaiju gives me the impression it's going to be unconventional and big.  Curious to see what you guys have cooking Doc.

Or maybe hard to kill and radioactive.

As I said, if someone needs soft start PC boards we should have them for a while. Transformers and power supply PC boards will have to be ordered on a custom basis and will be expensive, as we will deplete our inventory with the sale of these last few kits.

Will it be a step up from Paramount?

Dave
I've worked hard to make it all things to all people ... :^)

As Foghorn Leghorn says, "that's a joke, son." Have patience, all will be revealed - but first we have to actually build it and listen to it and make changes if it doesn't meet expectations. We're already on the third iteration of one major component.

It's designed for 300Bs only. So if you want an amp that will can also be configured to run 2A3s, grab one of the last Paramount kits.

I had "my guys" case the BH headquarters hoping to catch an image of the new project and this is what they came back with...    You can clearly see Paul and PB on the right hard at work on the prototype...Looks interesting... Then, you can see in the next pic, Doc, is reaching down for what looks like a pan, I believe he is going to make some popcorn "refreshments"  for the hard at work "prototype" team...  Yeah, that's what it is....

All you caught was Doc B. and PJ brewing up a fresh pot  ;)

Hahaha... Yes, you are correct... It DOES look more like you two are conjuring up a pot of "Bainbridge's Best".. Important preparation before getting down to business....

Well, it appears you guys make one mean pot of joe... Given the look on PJ's face, he is more than ready to pull the "all nighter" required to get this project done...

Now that I know you guys are sticking with the 300b, I'm REALLY curious to see what design differences this will have over the Paramounts.  In recent weeks I've learned just enough to ALMOST sound like I know what I'm talking about in a casual 30 second conversation about amplifier design.  Beyond that, I'd be exposed as a total fraud. ;)

With that said, knowing just a little bit about this stuff makes it so much more interesting.
