Bottlehead gurus - any recommendation for a detailed 12au7 tube Foreplay preamp.
Which one would you choose between Mullard and JJ tube or any other ones

New Mullard or old Mullard?

The old ones are pretty nice, but the new Russian ones maybe not so much.

That's a decent deal on a pretty nice tube.

Mullards in my fp2.
Mine are wrinkled glass from 1959 and 1956.
They are keepers. They just do everything right in my setup.
Havent tried the jj's so I cant comment on them.

Like Paul said, thats a pretty good price on those tungsrams.
They are going fast.

Im a Mullard guy as well.
Do they sound like a Mullard just with more detail tossed in the mix?
