The MJE5731A on my sex 2.1 has failed. Checked with mouser etc and they say that it is outdated. Is there a sub for this? Thanks. Shreekant

Can you be more specific about what's up with your kit? Typically a failure like this will have a cause that's external to the transistor itself. The MJE5731AG and MJE5731G are acceptable subs.

Hi Paul,
Got the transistors and put them in. The led's too were not working. Now everything is fine.
I did notice the the centre area of the c4s pcb had a black discolouration. I added more height to the stand offs, and so far itis working fine.
