Microphonics Problem

What are the reasons that make microphonic on crack? Iam already changes the tubes and still like that.

Is there a possibility the damage on the tube socket(stock/ceramic)? I tried to replace the tube position and can solve it a moment then back again.

Any suggestions will very help.

This is the voltage :

The strange volt i think is at pin 1(85) - pin 5(75) & pin 7(110) - pin 9(100).
Any suggestion for the microphonics problem?

Hi Colin,

Funny you should bring this up since I'm going through the same thing presently. Let me start off by saying that anything is possible but I doubt that there is anything wrong with your socket.

Not sure what you are using but I'm finding that a lot of the 6AS7 tubes are microphonic. Not all of them but definitely a lot of the samples I have are. The 6080 on the other hand which is typically in a glass envelope with straight sides doesn't seem to suffer as much. In fact some of my 6080 triple mica's are some of the quietest samples I have from the 6080/6AS7 family. That said, some of the better sounding tubes I have are 6AS7's. If the mechanical vibrations can be reduced or eliminated then thats the way I'd go. If you don't want to mess with it then just use 6080 straight glass tubes preferably with triple mica construction.

Hi Natutal Sound, thanks for the replied.
I have been used my crack already 3 years, and never hearing the microphonics before. Tubes(although 6080, 6an7, 6h13, 5998 in power tube) & parts rolling, before and after speedball installed. This microphonics just happened this lately arround 1 month and getting worse day by day.

You might try reheating all of the solder joints on the socket.
