Match to my power amp?

I just sent in my order for the new Bee-Pre and am really chomping at the bit.

I own an updated version of the Dynakit ST 70 ( 35watt/channel in pentode, 20 watts/channel in triode) and would like to match it up to the Bee-Pre 2.  A good match?
Thanks,  Tom

The newest ST-70 (series 3) has a very low input impedance for a tube amp (25K), but will work just fine with the BeePre.  I suspect you will hear more of an improvement if you install the second upgrade than you might otherwise with a vintage ST-70.

PB, with respect to this subject, do you know the input impedance of the VAC PA 100/100. I’m hoping to justify the purchase of a BeePre-2. Something tells me this could be a good pairing.

I found the phone number (the one in the manual was not current) and called VAC. 100K is the answer. I got this amp several years ago, and while it is very good, it lacks that single ended magic. The question is will the new Bee-Pre add that missing magic?

A big part of the reason for the circuit changes was the unexpected popularity of pairing the BeePre with solid state power amps, so I suspect you may be onto something.
