Kaiju sounds clearer without the BeePre2 feeding it?

Hi All,

I am in the process of finishing the third upgrade to my BeePre2. During this time I have had my Kaiju directly hooked up to my dac. Everything sounds slightly more clear. My partner described it as being more “crisp”. Any idea why this is? I love the sound of my system both ways but there is a sonic clarity that occurs without the Preamp in the system. Just wondering!

Hi,

I have the opposite - with beepre Kaiju really shines. The music is slightly more detailed without beepre, but I lobe the tembre of 300B line stage in front of Kaiju. So much that I like to put beepre on the max output and attenuate the sound through Kaiju input trimpots..
