is it possible to be too thin?

After reading Allen Wright's Super Cable Cookbook, I'm planning on using his concepts in wiring up my various builds. Specifically, the one on using thin (24 AWG and lower) solid core wire. His ideas are based on a paper by Prof. Hawksford (paper reproduced in the book). Mr. Wright also is a proponent of pushing things to the extreme. Is it possible to go too thin in chassis wiring? Right now I'm using 24 awg in my efp iii build. But silver becomes more affordable down there in the thin gauges and I was hoping to use silver wiring in my eros and paramount builds. The gauge of wire needs only be chosen for the current capability.  In interconnects that is usually miniscule.  I also think that beefy cables are too many parallel paths for the signal.  

Cardas disagrees and, contrary to the above opinion, I use Cardas between my Seduction (soon to be Eros) and Foreplay.  It must shielded for the lowest noise and the Cardas was the best I have ever used in this position.
 
If you want a pet theory there is also one that says 23 ga. is perfect, based upon some demonstration using Maxwell's equations. IME solid core wire sounds best for chassis wiring and it's far easier to do assembly with. As to size, one of the best cables I ever made used two different kinds and sizes of wire for signal hot and cold. I think you just have to smoke it and see for yourself.

Allen did indeed like his little SMA connectors and skinny wire. He also liked a bit different sound than I did, so I don't know if the technique will suit everyone's taste.
