I warped the mounting tabs with self-tapping screws. What now?

Hi! When I inserted the self-tapping screws in the mounting tags on the 6-lug terminal strips, the tabs became warped and twisted (though not detached). I did my best to return them to their original shape with a needlenose pliers, but those tabs made mounting the power transformer a real wrestling match--getting the locknuts secured at the end was a bear. Knowing nothing about any of this, I'm wondering if I'm okay to move on to the next steps of the kit or if I should remove the power transformer, get some new terminal strips, and give it another go. Any advice is hugely appreciated.
