Hot-Rodded Dynaco ST-35

Just finished up a fun build of a Dynaco ST-35 amplifier. I included some fun stuff including:


  • Teflon tube sockets with Beryllium copper contacts
  • Ceramic gold plated driver tube sockets
  • Mundorf and Obbligato driver board capacitors
  • Solen power bypass caps
  • Kimber TCSS internal wiring
  • Kiwame / Koa Speers carbon film resistors
  • Hammond 156R Choke - 56ohms DCR
  • Dynakit Parts ST35 BCU (Bias Control Unit)
  • Front power switch
  • Triode / Ultralinear Switches
  • Cardas RCAs and Binding Posts
  • C8 power inlet jack with custom C7 power cord
  • Custom powdercoat color-scheme
  • Alternate fuse holder and placement
  • Custom Brass Engravings

Bryan, I really hate to see you suffer with such a bad amp. You can send it to me with the cables you are putting together for me and I will sacrifice myself with it. ;)
 
very nice-nice colors and details-i like el84's as well as 2a3's-i had a st-35 -i sold it to a guy in france of all places--like you i used mundorfs and quality resisitors etc-but it did not have that classy look that you have captured--howie
 
Thanks fellas! Miguel, I think I'm going to have to torture myself with the terrible sound it produces while I finish recabling your cans ;) I'm actually using a rebuilt PAS-3 as the preamp, a match made in heaven if I do say so myself. I built a little shelf for both units to sit on above my work bench.
