Hi, I had on extended loan the HE-5 and HE-6. I also attended tow meets and listened to the HE-5L. IMO the HE-6 is the best sounding of the 3 and could be what you or others may be looking for. However it is not cheap so I would suggest attending a meet (see Head Fi) to listen before spending so much money. I should be receiving the new HE-500 unit from Fang at Head Direct it is supposed to be much easier to drive. Good luck.
