Does anybody know of a store that has headphones set up for the customer to listen to and compare? Various brands, ohm values, etc?

You will probably need to tell where you are to get a local dealer.  One in Miami, Portland OR, Austin and Portland ME will probably be of no use.

If you have a Guitar Center nearby they should have a display with a few to try out. The one around here has Shure, Beyerdynamic, Sony, and one or two others.

Thank you tubeglow..... numerous guitar centers here.... decided (for the moment) i am going to go with the beyer 770 250 ohm cans!!!!  unfortunately they dont display those ones to test before purchase.... and just found out the ones i want are online order only...
