The wooden case was finished using a deep mahogany stain followed by several coats of french polish to achieve a glossy look. The chassis plate was anodized black (found somewhere that did it cheap) while the transformer bell end was painted black using some Hammerite spray paint.
Circuit Customisations:
1. Neutrik 1/4" locking jack
2. Alps Blue velvet pot
The build was flawless as a result of the detailed instructions. I'm currently using the Crack minus the speedball with Sennheiser HD650's: this sounds excellent. The speedball will be installed after several months have elapsed in order to fully appreciate the sonic differences. Does anyone have any idea of how much power the Crack consumes? I couldn't find any info in this forum with respect to power usage...
Cheers
