Fuse questions

Hi just wondering can I use a t3.15 amp fuse in the crack? I can't find the one that came
With the kit. 5 amp fuse I think. The fuse I have is a 250v one like the one provided with the crack

What does the parts list say that the value of the fuse is?  I doubt it is 5A.  Best to check, I thought it was a half amp.

It is best not to put a fuse in that might be 10 times the manufacturer's rating.

You can choose to believe the human being who puts fuses into Crack kits (who also shares a desk with the designer of the kit), or you can choose to believe a piece of paper that may or may not have been updated.

Hey you say 1a fuse but manual says .5 a will this matter?

We discontinued the .5A fuse when the Crack was the last kit to use them.  1A works just as well and is a whole lot easier to find.

That's not quite right, Paul. When I started packing, the Crack was on 1A and the Seduction was on .5A (and we still have a bunch in the packing room). It was my assumption that they were popping in the field, much like how we later switched the BeePre from 1A to 1.5A.

Hmm, yeah, now that I think about it, there were a few 0.5A fuses popping here and there.

We reserve the right to change the value of the fuse sent based upon the actual performance of the batch we currently have in stock. If .5A fuses work we use them. If the ones we receive don't really hold up to the first startup surge then we switch to 1A. That initial startup is where a few .5A rated fuses have blown for customers. It is usually the highest startup surge the amp ever sees since the caps have never been used before. Either value protects the amp just fine when it holds up through the initial power on.

There is a 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance that a Crack shipped in the last month had a half amp fuse in it when it left BHHQ.
