And, what you are not able to see are some details like Sorbothane bumpers under the output caps, and Sorbothane rings on the bottom of the tube AND below on the the tube socket. Does it help? Nope, not in my opinion. The tubes still ring like crazy, but I just had to find out. I am tryin large brass weights on the plate to see if vibration can be tamed before it reach's the tubes. Lastly, there is WAY more volume in one channel than the other, but that will be a simple fix...I hope.

Hey Greg - I know what you mean about the ring - Unfortunately I had to cover up the tubes to solve that. They dont glow anyway so I guess I dont miss them.

What also helped is I took my hot glue gun and ran a bead around the tube sockets on the top and bottom. I also covered the bottom of the plate with thick 3M tape (double sided). Its silent now. Only rarely a ring or two. Of course it sits on the floor which is carpeted and a solid concrete slap under that. Make sure the wood box isnt vibrating.

That volume thing is disturbing! Does switching tubes make a difference?

She is a sensitive one!

cheers Eric
