hi  i am getting a fluttering sound on the left channel of my crack it sounds like birds wings this also accompanied by a rice crispies static sound which happens occasionally ,yhe fluttering is permament.i thought id done a decent soldering of my crack but im not so sure now hope you can help

i have some de oxit would that be suitable. quick question what headphone kit should i be buying for the audeze lcd2 classic  many thanks

Yup, deoxit is fine. For critical applications like mic pres in studios I like to chuck up half a Q tip in a dremel tool and use some metal polish on tube pins. If that doesn't solve it you might want to try a different tube.

My choice for the LCD2s is the S.E.X. amp. Plenty of power and a nice match sonically.

many thanks .have you come across THE GREAT BRITISH VALVE PROJECT its worth a look a group of volunteers have put brimar valves back into production

The sound of bird wings could also be wireless interference from a nearby device.  WiFi routers are particularly likely to cause this kind of noise, and a few extra feet of separation can resolve the issue usually.

have cleaned all valve pins and that has cured the crackling .ive made a new mains lead  to move the crack away from my router and that has cured it.many thanks for all your help regards  mike haywood
