Feedback through headphones, looking for advice [resolved]

Hi All,

I'm having a bit of difficulty troubleshooting my crack build and i'm looking for advice on how to fix my issue.

I'm mainly getting the rubbing sound feedback every now and then and I haven't been able to fix it. I think it started when I installed the speed ball 1.1 OTL upgrade.

using leadless solder and a soldering iron that goes to 480 degrees C.

So far I've been going through the joints and reheated all of the ones that looked a bit dodgy. Probably missed some though!

thanks!

edit: the last board had one of the wires fall off when I was moving it to take a picture, going to resolder it on later.

I would get some 60/40 solder with lead and touch up every single joint in the amp.

This is what I do for factory repairs that come in with lead free solder.

Alrighty,

I've basically added a dab or redid the solder joints that had too much solder after a dab with 60/40 lead solder.

Unfortunately I still have an intermittent crackle/squeel in both sides

All the LEDs light up and both the tubes light up.

Please advise

Thanks!

I didn't use any additional flux, but after leaving the amp turned on for the last 48 hours the fuzzy noise has mostly gone away.

Maybe it just needed to burn in (:

Thanks for the assistance Paul! I'll come back if I experience any significant background noise.
